Boston City Hall From Scollay Square

A view of Boston City Hall from Court and Tremont Streets (Scollay Square). The area is known as Government Center Plaza or City Hall Plaza. Hundreds of buildings were demolished in the late 1950s to make way for new Boston City Hall. Scollay Square was destroyed, with a more appropriate name being Three Corners, due to the resulting intersection of Cambridge, Tremont, and Court Streets. Adams Square was completely eliminated.
