Although no one seems to know why, actress Sharon Stone has lost joint custody of her oldest son, 8-year-old Roan. Stone adopted Roan with then-husband Phil Bronstein, who now has sole custody of their son.
Sharon Stone has lost physical custody of her eight-year-old son Roan, according to a court minute obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
According to documents detailing a September 12, 2008 custody hearing, her ex-husband Phil Bronstein “shall have permanent sole physical custody of child. Court finds that respondent [Sharon Stone] failed to meet her burden of proof and denies respondent’s [Sharon Stone’s] request for modification of custody.”
The judge notes the order is permanent unless there is a change of circumstances.
In October 2007, a judge had ruled that Stone and Bronstein, a newspaper editor, had “joint legal and physical custody” of Roan, whom they adopted.
Stone and Bronstein, who wed wed on Valentine’s Day in 1998, announced they were splitting in 2003.
In 2006, Stone adopted her third child, Quinn Kelly Stone, who joined sons Roan and Laird.

This is super odd. Nothing has been brought to the public attention about Stone’s parenting, so all we could do is speculate. I always forget she’s a mom. You hardly ever see her photographed “out and about” with her kids like most other celebs. And there is absolutely nothing maternal about the woman. She’s just so hard and unlikable. All that said, that doesn’t mean she’s a bad parent. Though clearly a judge has something bad against her, as he they wouldn’t take joint custody away from a mother for no reason.
We’ll probably hear some response in the next few days. I’m guessing if nothing else, she didn’t spend enough time with her son and maybe that became problematic.
Here’s Stone having lunch at the Ivy on the 17th. She doesn’t look too upset. Images thanks to WENN.
